min+ is an architecture practice based in the Netherlands, consisting of Martijn Dahrs, Italo de Vroom and Nick Boer. We harness architecture as a tool to address societal and ecological challenges. The + in the name stands for future additions: new perspectives, scenarios, collaborations that extend beyond our current configuration.

Location. Our method puts site-specific conditions and programmatic challenges at the heart of our assignment. This sense of awareness is the foundation on which our projects build location-specific systems that always add more to their surroundings than they take.

Intensification. The future of the built environment is dense and mixed. Spatial scarcity and ecological necessity demand intensification. We seek to create buildings that generate urban life through their capacity to accommodate diverse activities simultaneously.

Transformation. We approach architecture as an instrument for transformation of our surroundings, our habits and ultimately ourselves. It creates the conditions that establish new interactions between people and their environment.

Sustainability. We carry the responsibility to approach sustainability as an integral quality, not an addition. Well-tempered architecture creates ideal environmental human conditions without excessive energy and material use.

Multiplicity. We design site-specific systems: spatial frameworks tuned to their site while remaining open to multiple appropriations. Rather than dictating behaviors, their longevity is defined by their ability to host unforeseen uses and possibilities.

Martijn Dahrs

Graduated his Masters in Architecture at the TU Delft, the Netherlands, and at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to co-founding min+, he worked at UNStudio through the full spectrum of design and planning for projects in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Italo de Vroom

Studied Architecture at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, and the Technische Universität München, Germany. Before co-founding min+, his work at Neutelings Riedijk, INBO and HPP brought him broad experience in architecture and project management across the Netherlands and Germany.

Nick Boer

Finished his Masters in Architecture at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, USA.
